CBS television never produced the "Real Beverly Hillbillies." They did not explain why or say that it would not be produced. They just stopped talking about it.
We count that as a victory for rural America.

Next steps
Rural Strategies intends to expand the pressure on CBS until the issue is resolved. The organization is now speaking to institutional shareholders of CBS' parent-company, Viacom. Prospective partners in this effort will include socially responsible investment funds, trade union pension plans, and large corporate investors. The next phase will be an appeal to CBS and Viacom that the network take a more responsible approach to representing and serving rural America.
